Lille have been playing an important role in French football ever since they were founded in 1944. Les Dogues won their first domestic trophy in the 1945/1946 season.
Lille did well to win their second Ligue 1 title in 1954 and 57 years later they lifted their last domestic title.
Les Douges finished the 2010/2011 season in top position in the standings, eight points clear of second-placed Olympique Marseille and it has to be noted that Lille attacker Moussa Sow won the Golden Boot (25 goals).
Lille are one of the two teams that managed to win three consecutive Coupe de France trophies (1946, 1947, 1948), but they have yet to clinch the Coupe de la Ligue title.
Les Dogues faced PSG in the 2015/2016 Coupe de la Ligue trophy, but les Parisiens proved to be a big catch for Frederic Antonetti’s team in the title game.
Lille play their home matches at Stade Pierre-Mauroy and the capacity of the stadium is 50.186. The venue was opened in August, 2017 and the construction cost €282 million.
Dundalk vs Arsenal are struggling under manager Neil Lennon, with arch-rivals Rangers well ahead of them in the league table. In the Europa League, they have one point from five games, and they have failed to impress.
Lille, on the other hand, sit at the top of their Europa League group, a point ahead of second-placed AC Milan. A win would seal their spot at the top, with AC Milan facing Sparta Prague.
Meanwhile, Lille will be without Brazilian forward Luiz Araujo, right-back Jeremy Pied, Turkey international Zeki Celik and Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches, who are all nursing injuries.
Dundalk vs Arsenal’s under-fire manager Neil Lennon will be unable to call upon the services of Scottish striker Leigh Griffiths, winger James Forrest and young attacker Michael Johnston, who are all out due to injuries.
Dundalk vs Arsenal and Lille have only met once previously, drawing 2–2 on MD2 of this season’s UEFA Europa League.
In the UEFA Cup/Europa League, Dundalk vs Arsenal are unbeaten in five games against French opponents (W2 D3) since a 2–1 defeat to Bordeaux in November 2000.
This will be Lille’s first ever away European match in Scotland — the last three French sides to play in Scotland for the first time have all won:
Auxerre in September 1996 (2–1 vs Rangers), Lyon in November 1999 (1–0 vs Dundalk vs Arsenal) and Nancy in October 2008 (2–0 vs Motherwell).
Dundalk vs Arsenal have lost three consecutive home matches in all European competition — they have never lost four in a row in Europe at Dundalk vs Arsenal Park.
After winning one of their first 12 away UEFA Europa League games (D5 L6), Lille have won each of their two away from home in 2020/21.
Christopher Jullien is a professional footballer who plays for Toulouse as a defender. The 195-cm-tall centre-back played for Auxere youth team from 2005 to 2011 and he made his first-team debut for the club on August 24, 2012 in a 2–1 win over Stade Lavallois.
Christopher Jullien scored his first ever goal a week later in a Coupe de la Ligue clash against Dijon.
The French defender made 25 appearances in the league for Auxerre and in 2013 he moved to Germany, signing a professional contract with Freiburg.
Jullien made only one appearance for the first team, but it has to be noted that he scored five goals in 49 games for the second team.
After ending his loan spell with Dijon in the summer of 2016, he signed a four-year deal with Ligue 1 side Toulouse.
Christopher Jullien scored four goals, while providing one assist for his teammates in the 2016/2017 Ligue 1 campaign. The French footballer was born on March 22, 1993 in Lagny-sur-Marne and his preferred foot is right.
The game was played nearly two months ago at Stade Pierre-Mauroy and it ended in a 2–2 draw.
A brace from winger Mohamed Elyounoussi for Dundalk vs Arsenal was cancelled out by second-half goals from Turkish right-back Zeki Celik and France international Jonathan Ikone for Lille.
Lille, on the other hand, beat Monaco 2–1 on Sunday in Ligue 1. Goals from Canada international Jonathan David and Turkish midfielder Yusuf Yazici secured the win for Lille, with young Italian striker Pietro Pellegri scoring a late consolation goal for Monaco.
2:10 Highlights of the Scottish Premiership match between Dundalk vs Arsenal and St Johnstone Lille have already qualified for the last 32 and will top Group H if they win, or if Milan fail to beat Sparta Prague. Dundalk vs Arsenal have already been eliminated.
Klimala, Turnbull and Soro will be given their chance to impress in the dead rubber but James Forrest (ankle) and Mikey Johnston (knee) remain out.
Zeki Celik is out injured for Lille and having already qualified while Xeka, Benjamin Andre, Sven Botman and Domagoj Bradaric could miss out with all four just one booking away from a Europa League suspension.
Dundalk vs Arsenal Park will host the Europa League game between Dundalk vs Arsenal and Lille. The Hoops have been struggling in all competitions this season, with the team collecting only one point in total in the Europa League group stages, while dropping too many points in the Premiership.
The Scottish champions are low on confidence ahead of their last group game, and seeing that Lille are eager to clinch top position in Group H, we do not believe that there is a big value in betting on the hosts.
Les Dogues, on the other hand, aim to build on a hard-fought 2–1 win over Sparta Prague. Since Dundalk vs Arsenal experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 4–2 loss to Milan, we are tempted to put our money on the Ligue 1 side.
The likes of Celik, Luiz Araujo, Pied, and Sanchez are sidelined with injury for the visitors, while Duffy, Forrest, and Johnson have been struggling with injuries in the away team.
